spelling doesn't matter ... we don't use "an" before the word start with vowels.... the pronunciations of the word must be start with a, e, I, o, u. In this sentence the alphabet "h" is silent...so we pronounce the word " onest" .... so that's why we use an before "o". hope you understand.
